First Aid Responder Re-certification update 21st July 2021

Just keeping everyone updated on the latest news in relation to the expiry date of First Aid Responder Certificates. Any certificate that expired between March 2020 & July 2021 must be recertified before 31st July 2021. The participants must attend a two day First Aid Responder Refresher course to recertify. If you do not recertify within this period you must attend the full 3 day course to gain your First Aid Responder certification.

The PHECC council held a meeting on 15th July. See excerpt below.
They considered the ongoing and evolving government advice and public health restrictions due to Covid-19. It was agreed that from 1 August:
  • there is no change to the 2-year expiry on CFR and FAR certificates and EFR certificates expire after 3 years;
  • individuals who recertify within 3 months of the expiry on their responder level certificate can undertake a shorter re-certification course;
  • individuals who recertify after 3 months of the expiry on their responder level certificate must undertake the full certification course.
